Do those juice products do anything for arthritis of the knees?
I started drinking Essentials, then switched to Joint Juice with 1500 mg glucosamine. The Essentials has 1500 mg glucosamine AND 1500 mg condriotin.

People can pooh-pooh glucosamine all they wish. I’m sure the big pharmaceutical companies would be grateful for the marketing assistance.
I have severe arthritis in both of my knees and manage to stay pain free 98% of the time by taking daily supplements of glucosamine and flax seed oil.
i’ve heard aca berry is pretty good for that… google it for more info.
The possible benefits of glucosamine and chondroiton in osteoarthritis have been greatly exaggerated. A few studies have shown a mild improvement after being on the supplements for several months.
However, that could just be from the phenomena of ‘regression to the mean’. OA is a disease that naturally waxes and wanes…ask anybody who has it. They have good and bad days, good and bad weeks. Changes in the atmospheric pressure do make the joints ache more or less as well.
In summary…whether in the form of "juice" or not…G&C do not have a PROVEN beneficial effect when subjected to rigorous scientific study. Anecdotes of believers are proof of nothing.
EDIT Ruby. I don’t "pooh pooh" it. I even tell patients to try it if they want. It’s always about the evidence sweety, and it just isn’t very convincing.
