Check out the arthritis relief tablets containing more than just glucosamine and chondroitin, they often contain other herbal remedies, some of which are safe for dogs, some only in small doses, which the tablets have. If you cant find one you feel comfortable with, try the powder form instead of the tablets, its less concentrated, and easier to just sprinkle 1/2 a teaspoon on their food. Hope i have been some help, i get people arthritis tablets containing, fish oil, sea kelp extract, zinc, glucosamine and chondroitin, but i have large dogs, all weighing over 40lbs each, so dosing them is easier, one gets 4 tablets daily (213lbs), 1+1/2 for 3 of them and one gets one tablet daily. There was an item on TV tonite where they said that glucosamine and chondroitin are about worthless and totally ineffective in humans.
