You would have to go out of your way to ingest most of these herbs and supplements. The only thing you need to be really careful to avoid is garlic, which you should always avoid before surgery because of it’s blood thinning capabilities.
Since you have been advised to avoid these things based on your individual condition, it’s best to just avoid drinking herb infused drinks like Sobe, energy drinks, and taking supplements with these things added without consulting with your alternative practitioner AND medical doctor.
Like I said before, most of these things are sold in health food stores in supplements for specific purposes and aren’t used in commercial foods. If you want to do your best in surgery you should stick to a natural, whole foods diet and not consume anything with ingredients you don’t recognize.
Remember that garlic is used to flavor most things in restaurants, most salad dressings, canned spaghetti sauce, and tons of other convenience items. That will be the hardest thing to avoid. Also, if you are taking supplements, tell your doctor about the levels of Vitamin E you are taking daily, as this can also thin the blood and is sometimes used for that purpose in therapeutic doses.
