How do you live with meniscus tear injuries?
I am an acitve 29 year old with a constant pain in my left knee on the right side. I am not sure how I injured my knee. My doctor suspected it was a meniscus tear and ordered an MRI. But the MRI didnt show anything. I went through a physical therapy and I felt that helped. But the pain has reoccured and now it bothers me even when I walk. And it gets worse when I run. Is there anyone who suffers from the same condition? Is there a way to get rid of this pain? I have tried drinking glucosamine and strengthening my thigh muscles but it hasnt helped and the pain keeps reoccuring when ever I run.

One thought that occurs to me is that you might not have a meniscus injury. Especially since you don’t racall any specific trauma. One possibility is a pes anserinus bursitis (see links). This is an inflammatory condition that is common among runners. Pain is just at or below the medial knee and can be confirmed by pain when pressure is applied to it. Another possibility is an MCL injury. Finally, you could have a stress fracture. That might not show up on an MRI. You would have to get a bone scan or regular X-Ray to disclose that.
you don’t
get a 2ND opinion if you had a small tear you could be tearing it even more .
you know your body better than any doctor if you are still experiencing pain and it effects your daily life you need to do something about it.
I was told my leg was fine after an x ray at the er only later to find out I had a hairline fracture I went for a 2nd opinion and so should you
good luck
