Get a specialist’s opinion. Have your PCP get you an appt with an orthopedic doc or one who specialized in arthritis. There are many good doctors today and they could steer you in the right direction. Looks like you are trying to go the natural route, but I’ve not had any friends who went the natural way keep them pain free. If you don’t like what the specialist prescribes, ask him/her about the natural way and see what advice they give you. Often, combining too many natural things are as debilitating to your whole body as prescriptions and may hurt more than help. I know water exercise helped everybody I had in class with knee problems.
Join a Y or a health club that has a pool and do water walking. You’ll see great improvement due to no stress to your joints and you’ll also feel better because the water is so relaxing to your whole body. Your whole body will tone up, you’ll build muscle which will make your legs stronger and naturally help ease the pain.
I started having pain in my right knee when I was exercising in a hot gym. It was strange. When I stopped going to this gym the pain stop. I thought I had arthritis too but I didn’t.
Anyway, Vicodin helps for pain.
i don’t do any of those not proven to help. take motrin for inflamation doc should have already given it to you. excerse is the best thing you can do even if it hurts , which it might but it is the best thing you can do, a good pain pill also helps. i have had 2 arthoscopic surgeries for my right knee i have seaver athritise. might try a cortizone shot. if you knee starts to go out from under you then you need to have a mri done to see if there is a tear in the cartlage, then they need to do the surgery, it is an easy surgery so don’t be scared if they say you need it. i am not allowed to ride a bike so i do treadmill or just plain walking out side
take care and good luck
