IS RIMADYL FOR MY DOG?
MY 15YR OLD SHIH TZU WAS GIVEN RIMADYL 1/2 OF A 25mg. TABLET DAILY I’M HAVING DOUBTS ON GIVING THIS TO HIM OR NOT HE ALREADY HAS KIDNEY PROBLEMS AND HE’S TAKING LIQUID GLUCOSAMINE AND EVERY 2 WEEKS A SHOT OF ADEQUAN HE CAN
INCREASE THE INJECTIONS I’M JUST NOT SURE OF RIMADYL EVEN THOUGH VET IS RECOMMENDING IT TO EVERYONE THAT COMES IN I’VE READ SOME SCARY THINGS AND NO USE INCREASING HIS PROBLEMS PLEASE ADVISE?????????

I would go ahead and give to him and just keep a eye on him. And ask another vet’s opinion.
at age 15, you only want to make the dog comfortable since it wont be around much longer. Do u really want to not give it pain meds cause it could harm them after many years? thats just unfair. Keep the dog as comfortable as possible and plan to put her down when the time comes.
