Multivitamins during the Master Cleanse?
I’m on day three and everything is going well. I am using cayenne capsules instead of mixing it with the drink. I also take a multivitamin, fish oil, glucosamine, and birth control pills. The book advises against it, but I honestly think that some of the book is bull. Has anybody used meds/vitamins and reaped the same benefits as the diet without meds/vitamins?

The point of the Master Cleanse is to "reset" your body. If you take ANY mult vitamins, it’s not going to be used by your body – just flushed out every morning. You won’t need the mult vitamins because the lemons and maple syrup and cayenne pepper provide everything you need. Lemons for vitamin c, minerals, and pH balance. Maple syrup for balanced sugars, minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. Follow the directions EXACTLY…and you will get optimal results.
Have you tried the cayenne pepper by itself? I HATE spicy foods but when I had my first drink yesterday, I swear my drink didn’t taste hot. You can barely tell the spice is in there (and this is coming from someone who is EXTREMELY sensitive to spices!!) The gelatin capsules make it harder for your stomach to rid of the toxins, because you’re adding something in there that it doesn’t need. Gelatin is derived from animals, which is the main thing that "plugs" up people.
Yeah, there are parts in the book that sounds silly, but try to follow the directions as close as possible or it really isn’t worth going through the 10 days like this.
Good luck to you.. I am on Day 2!!!
I’ve never tried any type of cleanse nor have I heard that you shouldn’t take pills during it. I think that is a load of crap as well, because the pills you are taking are for overall health, and don’t contain any preservatives or even calories.
Take them, and if the cleanse completely fails, you’ll know to avoid them next time.
