I just a few days ago was saved by the good lord…and by being saved he helped me realize my addiction to methadone was a bad thing and I should not take them anymore…I originally about Id say 2-3 years ago took methadone off and on…For about 2 months I was doing about a half a day (5mg) and I did not have a prescription…So I was forced when my hookup stopped answering my calls to go cold Turkey…I did it and felt bone pain for like 3-4 days then it went away…But then id say a good time later I found someone els who had a prescription…So I started to take them again because it was very easily assessable. I started out (5mg) a day and I eventually worked my way up to 3 pills (30mg) a day…I have been taking 30mg for about 8 months now..
When I decided enough was enough I told my self Id work my way down…So the first day I took 2 pills (20mg) and really didnt feal any bad symptoms coming about. So I thought Id just go cold turkey on day 2…im on day 4…3 days without any methadon at all. On day two of no methadon the symptoms of withdraw started to come at me. My bones felt like I was 80+ years old, my boul movements where very soft nasty looking…and I couldn’t sleep more than 2-3 interrupted hours that night….
Im on day 4 of detox and day 3 of total cold turkey, I have found that glucosamine helps relieve my pains to an extent for now.. I try to eat regularly and drink fluids to keep my body in good condition..and yes I almost have to force my self to eat these meals…My boul movements are still very uncountable.
I was wondering how long will these symptoms last? My attitude is very depressing but with the lords help I know he can get me through…Anyone have experience with this? Any help would be appreciated…
Sasha is my 7 year old female Husky mix. Lately she’s been having diarrhea. She and her buddy (a 6 year old female German Shepherd) have been eating the same kibble for a long time now. A few weeks ago, we started giving them 2 glucosamine tablets per day (2 tablets for 25-50lb dogs… she’s about 65lbs, but we wanted to see how it went before we gave her 3). It hasn’t negatively effected the German Shepherd. It’s only in the past few days that she’s gotten diarrhea, so I’m not sure that it was the glucosamine. We’re taking Sasha to the vet tomorrow… what could be wrong with her? Thanks!
The glucosamine is for her joints. In the past couple of years, she’s been getting pretty stiff.
1 tab for 11-24lb dogs
2 tabs for 25-50lb dogs
3 tabs for 51-75 lb dogs
My dog Sheila is a 9 and a 1/2 year old German Shepard. Two weeks ago she was fine with no symptoms, since then she has many symptoms and I am very worried about her. Since then she has been getting up and having a hard time which may be arthrithis. I bought her a multi-vitamin and a joint compound with MSM w/ Glucosamine. SInce these two weeks have began it seems that everyday new symptoms are popping up. She started to breath very hard and is panting like she is out of breath. Right now she has not been eating or drinking for a few days and she is also vomiting. Can anyone please help me with any answers.
Hello everyone. Has anyone encountered my situation?: Over the past few days, my 16 year old cat has become lethargic, has a 104.5 degree fever, eats and drinks very little, and doesn’t really want to move around. She just sleeps a lot. If she was a human I would almost think she has the flu and just wants to stay in bed. She hasn’t left my room in two days except to go to the litter box. When she goes to the litter box, she pees next to it instead of inside it. The fact that she is peeing means she must be drinking something I guess. I took her to the vet yesterday and she’s going back for a follow-up today, but I just wanted others’ opinions. The vet is thinking kidney/UT infection, so she’s on an antibiotic and the vet also hydrated her and will do so again today. I’ve been reading online and her symptoms are like a mix of a couple of things. Kidney infection or UTI sounds possible, but also her symptoms fit an arthritis flareup according to http://www.glucosamine-arthritis.org/arthritis-pets/cats-arthritis-symptoms.html She is getting old, and has been moving noticeably slower these past few months, sort of wobbling. Anyone have any thoughts? I plan to bring up arthritis with the vet today, but the vet is pretty set on a kidney infection.
Clarification: I took the cat to the vet yesterday where they said she had a 104.5 degree fever, which is 2 degrees over her normal body temperature. They didn’t seem extremely concerned about it, and she will be back at the bet 2 hours from now (and as many times as it takes for her to get better). I’m just trying to figure out what might be wrong with her, since friends of mine have had their cats die when vets misdiagnose.
