I just a few days ago was saved by the good lord…and by being saved he helped me realize my addiction to methadone was a bad thing and I should not take them anymore…I originally about Id say 2-3 years ago took methadone off and on…For about 2 months I was doing about a half a day (5mg) and I did not have a prescription…So I was forced when my hookup stopped answering my calls to go cold Turkey…I did it and felt bone pain for like 3-4 days then it went away…But then id say a good time later I found someone els who had a prescription…So I started to take them again because it was very easily assessable. I started out (5mg) a day and I eventually worked my way up to 3 pills (30mg) a day…I have been taking 30mg for about 8 months now..
When I decided enough was enough I told my self Id work my way down…So the first day I took 2 pills (20mg) and really didnt feal any bad symptoms coming about. So I thought Id just go cold turkey on day 2…im on day 4…3 days without any methadon at all. On day two of no methadon the symptoms of withdraw started to come at me. My bones felt like I was 80+ years old, my boul movements where very soft nasty looking…and I couldn’t sleep more than 2-3 interrupted hours that night….
Im on day 4 of detox and day 3 of total cold turkey, I have found that glucosamine helps relieve my pains to an extent for now.. I try to eat regularly and drink fluids to keep my body in good condition..and yes I almost have to force my self to eat these meals…My boul movements are still very uncountable.
I was wondering how long will these symptoms last? My attitude is very depressing but with the lords help I know he can get me through…Anyone have experience with this? Any help would be appreciated…
I have terrible knee pain that seems to focus mainly from behind my kneecap. I played soccer for 14 years and had to give it up because the pain in my knee became intolerable. At times, it is hard for me to walk, or even sleep comfortably.
I take glucosamine 1500mg and MSM 1500mg tablets twice a day as recommended, but they do nothing for me, ice and/or heat packs and pain relievers do nothing as well. Surgery is out of question due to financial issues. Is there anything else can I do to relieve the severe pain?
It’s been happening for a long time now but I’m convinced its because of the way I sleep. The upper part and the pit (underside) of my knee are constantly sore. If I were to do a squat I can only go down a few inches without it hurting. I do have a desk job where I’m pretty much always on the computer sitting down so that may also be part of the problem.
My shoulders I’m certain though are because of sleep. I almost always sleep on my back now as I did last night. I woke up in the middle of the night as I usually to get some water but my right shoulder was incredibly painful when I moved it. It usually dulls down as the day goes on but it’s very annoying.
I’ve been taking glucosamine tablets for the past 2 weeks or so hoping this would help. I also do 1 hour rigorous kung fu 3 times a week, but I highly doubt this causes the pain as I’ve had it before I started. I’m 23yrs 6′2 145lbs, non smoker non drinker. Is there a certain way to sleep, or would a new pillow/mattess help?
I also do morning and evening joint stretches everyday (rolling around joint caps and such). Not sure if this really helps at all though but I’m gonna keep doing it.
My Lhasa Apso is 14 years old. He has trouble getting up in the morning and cries at night when he is trying to get comfortable and go to sleep. I think he has arthritis and I was wondering if it was OK to give him Glucosamine tablets, the people version. I have Glucosamine treats but even the vet said that there is such a small dosage in them that it make sno difference.
