taking glucosamine before after during a tattoo or piercing.?
I read somewhere that if you feel lightheaded or like your going to puke or pass out while your getting a tattoo to take a glucose tablet and it will help make you feel better. Is this true, and why?

Glucose – yes, because it is a sugar. Sugar in your blood helps keep you awake. Actually, a sugar/caffeine mix does better, because of how caffeine works.
And you should never take caffeine without sugar, because that will cause a "crash," where the caffeine causes you to burn all of your cellular energy, without having any sugar in your bloodstream to replenish it.
Just eat a sugar packet (sucrose) before getting a tattoo and you’ll be fine. You get nauseous because you stress out, and that causes your blood sugar levels to plummet.
Taking glucosamine, which is different from glucose, won’t do you any good at all.
I cannot think of a single medical reason that glucosamine would help with nausea; glucosamine is given to patients with osteoarthritis, due to it being a precursor for glycosaminoglycans, which is found in cartilage in your body.
)
Glucose on the other hand, is a different story. It’s what is known as a monosaccharide, or a simple carb, or more simply put… A simple sugar.
(I feel as though I just used "simple" a little redundantly
Glucose, yes. Glucosamine, no.
BUUUUUTTT
Much better than eating a packet of sugar, drinking some juice, or a tablet is to eat a reasonable meal before you begin your tattoo. Don’t rely on some gimick to solve a problem that can easily be prevented with some common sense beforehand.
Eat a light, balanced meal before you go in for your tattoo appointment. You don’t want so much food you feel like a slug, but you are going to need more than a soda and a candy bar. If you are too nervous, eat something small and bring something with you for later.
Durring your tattoo if you are getting tired, feeling sick, or even just hungry, let your artist know. They will be glad to take a break and you will have a chance to eat some kind of snack to get your blood sugar back up. I usually sit for very long tattoos and so I bring someone with me to go get a meal and bring it back about halfway through. If you are sitting for a couple of hours, consider bringing some crackers, a pbj sandwich, some kind of fruit, etc. It will only take you a few minutes to eat a snack and you will feel MUCH better than eating sugar or taking a pill.
Getting a tattoo is a lot like dealing with yourself when you have a cold. You want enough food that you don’t get worn out, but not so much you feel sick. You need to take a rest and get some energy back when you get tired. As another benefit, your tattoo will probably seem to hurt less if you’re well rested before you start and reasonably fed durring the process.
