They are both very good ingredients for joint health.
There are no major benefits of the combination compared to each individual ingredient, but each has different benefits for joint health. They are also both very economical products and have been around for a longer time than many joint health products... that's a couple of the reasons that they are commonly combined together.

Aside from those two, you could also try Microlactin, Hyaluronic Acid, Tart Cherry Extract, Litozin (Danish Rose Hips), MSM, and Avovida (a combination of avocado and soy) for general joint health. Most of them are very economical and are very beneficial... our customers order them on a very regular basis. Most people get benefit from one or more of these ingredients within anywhere from a week to a couple months, depending on how long it takes for the supplement to get into their joints.

The only thing you'd have to worry about on any of these aside from allergic reactions is that the Microlactin is from milk and the Glucosamin is typically from Shellfish (those are the most common allergens).

They are both compatible with each other as both derived from the sea, Glucosamine is derived from Sharks-bone.
Combined they compliment one another, to achieve maximum benefits from both.
They are a tad on the pricey side whether in powder form or capsules.
They help stop inflammation from arthritis and other painful degenerative bone disorders.
Taken as directed and also combining fish oil capsules with them, it only takes a week before you (I did) start to see the benefits, and it gets better!
Also helps to prevent any further damage or calcium overgrowth.

Chondroitin Sulfinate and Glucosamine Sulfinate are the result of research in the canine industry for hip displasia in Eruope. It was passed by the FDA about 10 years ago for use here in the United States. Glucosamine Sulfinate actually repairs the soft tissues in the joints where the disease of arthritis has damaged. One of the few things that actually repairs the damage is quite unusual. The Chondroitin Sulfinate puts a coating on the healthy tissue not yet affected by the disease to stop the spread. The rate of repair is very slow and takes about as long to rejuvinate the joint as it did to do the damage. But it does repair it. This combination should be taken with MSM. MSM is organic sulfur. Since it is in the kelated form of a mineral it reduces inflammation dramtically. I would also add 500mg of B6 for the production of synovial fluid to lubricate the joints and tendons in the target areas.
